Chuck Schumer defines Donald Trump as an incompetent president for starting a war with no way out
Democrat Chuck Schumer attacked President Donald Trump for his lack of planning when entering war with Iran
Chuck Schumer, Democratic minority leader in the Senate, defined Donald Trump as an incompetent president for starting a hopeless war in the Middle East.
Through a statement, the Brooklyn politician called the New York tycoon, reproaching the 80-year-old president for unnecessarily triggering a conflict with Iran that he has not been able to resolve in more than four months.
"Trump's supposed 'agreement' to end hostilities with Iran has become a total disaster. This is what happens when an incompetent president starts a war without a goal, without a plan and without an exit strategy: he loses," part of the text states.
Schumer's severe criticism came after Trump once again ordered attacks directed at the Islamic Republic, this despite the fact that he himself had proposed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) through which he established a two-month ceasefire with the aim of negotiating, in addition to an Iranian surrender, the commitment to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to the navigation of oil tankers and to renounce any uranium enrichment process with the aim of manufacturing nuclear weapons.
The key points of the document signed by the American president in Versailles, in the middle of last month, are mainly summarized in: conclude the war and avoid future military actions, not intervene in the internal affairs of both nations, establish a period of up to 60 days to reach a definitive agreement, lift naval restrictions and reduce its military presence in the area, allow vessel traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, promote a development program for Iran with an estimated financing of $300 billion, eliminate the sanctions imposed on said nation and reaffirm its commitment to completely renounce its nuclear program.
However, upon learning that ships had been attacked while crossing the coastline shared by Iran with Oman, Trump exploded against the government in Tehran.
"I think it's over. I don't want any dealings with them anymore. They are scum," he emphasized regarding Iranian officials.
