The actress and singer completed the recordings of the ambitious historical production, a project that she described as one of the greatest challenges of her career.
Belinda officially closed one of the most demanding and significant chapters of her artistic career. After six months of intense recording in Spain and various parts of Latin America, the actress and singer concluded the filming of “Carlota”, the new historical miniseries from Sony Pictures Television and HBO Max based on the Second Mexican Empire.
Through her Instagram stories, the pop star shared an emotional photograph with the cast and crew to commemorate the last day on set.
In her message, Belinda did not hide the emotional impact of playing the last empress of Mexico, a role she described as an absolute commitment between light and darkness.
“I discovered myself through this character and at the same time I forgot about myself,” the artist reflected, adding that acting took her to places of great vulnerability. “I left my soul in this series,” she said moved, saying goodbye to her role as “my empress.”
The production, which consists of 10 episodes and is scheduled to premiere between the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027, portrays in a contemporary way the life of Charlotte and Maximilian of Habsburg (played by Jaime Lorente).
The cast also includes figures such as Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Mabel Cadena, Bárbara de Regil and Sebastián Zurita, under the direction of Alejandro Bazzano (“La casa de papel”) and Ana Lorena Pérez Ríos.
Mabel Cadena, who plays Josefa, dedicated words of gratitude to Belinda, highlighting the strong union they consolidated during filming. For the “Indómita” singer, this project represents her most ambitious acting commitment at an international level.
