Grupo Intocable consolidates its success with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Mexican group received this honor in a ceremony in which Mexican composer Edgar Barrera and music executive Nir Seroussi participated.
The Mexican group Intocable achieved one more success that serves as proof of its impact on the international music scene: it received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The honor was granted during a ceremony that took place on July 16, on Hollywood Boulevard in California. In addition to the band members, the Mexican composer Edgar Barrera and the president of Interscope Capitol Miami, Nir Seroussi, were present.
Ricardo Javier Muñoz, vocalist of Intocable, was in charge of taking the microphone during the ceremony. The famous man took advantage of the space to thank God, his family, bandmates, the composers who have been part of his history and “all the people who right now are belonging to Intocable in some way.”
"Today we fulfill a dream that we never imagined when we began this path. This recognition will forever remind us that dreams come true when you walk hand in hand with those who never stop believing in you," they highlighted from their Instagram profile.
Regarding this important achievement, music entrepreneur Nir Seroussi highlighted the extensive history of the group and the barriers that the musical group broke down with its musical proposal.
“35 years ago a band like Intocable was not supposed to exist, it was against the rules, but apparently no one warned them (…) At that time Mexican music had many rules, Intocable saw them and said, no thanks,” he commented.
Likewise, he assured that Intocable laid the foundations for new artists within the Mexican regional and banda genre: "Ricky took the accordion and made it sound like the future. They showed the world what Mexican music could be," he highlighted.
For his part, the Mexican composer Edgar Barrera pointed out that Intocable's legacy goes beyond the musical scene, since during their more than three decades of history they have been a cultural reference worldwide.
"Those of us who grew up on the border know that that's where everything mixes: northern with pop, English with Spanish. It's a unique identity, and that mix started with Intocable," he said.
