The 'Saturday Night Live' stage became –this weekend– the epicenter of a new chapter of the alleged conflict between Charli XCX and Taylor Swift, after the former appeared on the show with a wardrobe choice that many interpreted as a clear hint.
The singer, 33, made a surprise cameo during the presentation of the artist Role Model, who performed his song 'Sally, When the Wine Runs Out'.
Halfway through the song, Charli XCX appeared on stage characterized as 'Sally', wearing an outfit that did not go unnoticed: a leather miniskirt, sunglasses and, above all, a T-shirt with the legend “Max's Kansas City”.
The choice of the T-shirt was the spark that ignited the speculation. Considering that Taylor Swift's fiance Travis Kelce is the Kansas City Chiefs star, it didn't take long for viewers to connect the dots. The theory suggests this was a response to the song 'Actually Romantic,' featured on Swift's latest album, 'Life of a Showgirl,' where the superstar allegedly referenced a feud with Charli.

On social media, fans were quick to react. “KC shirt... oh you little chihuahua we gon' treat you right,” wrote one user on X, directly quoting a line from 'Actually Romantic.' Another follower expressed discomfort with the situation: “So how long has Charli been talking crap about Taylor? She's too old to be doing this.”
However, not everyone agreed with this interpretation. Some fans pointed out that Role Model had previously worn a similar shirt during promotions for the show earlier in the week, arguing that the wardrobe choice was part of a pre-established dynamic between the two artists.
“Charli XCX wearing Tucker’s shirt as her Sally,” one fan clarified, while another added, “As a fan of both Taylor and [Role Model], this has nothing to do with Taylor and everything to do with one bit that [Role Model] has.”
