The first Mexican actor Eric del Castillo underwent emergency vascular surgery, this was confirmed by his daughter Verónica del Castillo in a recent interview.

According to the testimony of the former “La Casa de los Famosos” participant, the surgical procedure was carried out because her father had an obstruction in one of the main arteries that supply his legs, a situation that, according to his medical team, required immediate attention to avoid future complications.

“My dad has a problem with arteries in his legs that are clogged,” he explained before the cameras of the “De Primera Mano” program.

Following the doctor's recommendations, Eric del Castillo underwent a catheterization of the iliac artery, that is, a minimally invasive intervention that aims to restore blood flow.

Regarding this procedure, Verónica del Castillo commented: “They performed a catheterization that involves intervening with a puncture of the artery (…) At the height of the groin they insert a thin needle, they inflate it like a balloon and they insert a mesh and this mesh already allows 100% of the blood to flow.”

Despite the initial scare, the actor's daughter indicated that the intervention was necessary to avoid the risk of losing her foot or even a leg: "We acted very voluntarily because it was already 80% covered and now it has 100% blood flow," she highlighted.

In addition, Verónica del Castillo confirmed that her father, protagonist of stories such as “The Strange Son of the Sheriff” and “La Generala”, is stable and recovering from home with the care of his family.

"He is already perfect. The truth is that his heart is very well and it was only the lack of circulation in his legs," concluded the presenter, but not before sharing that in 15 days a second procedure will be carried out, now in the lower back: "It is simply burning his nerves. That is called performing a block," she explained.
