“It didn't seem appropriate to me”: The reason why Lele Pons did not celebrate her birthday
The Venezuelan content creator dedicated her social networks and time to channeling humanitarian aid for those affected by the earthquake in Venezuela
The Venezuelan content creator and influencer, Lele Pons, moved her followers by revealing that she decided to completely cancel her 30th birthday celebrations. The decision responds to mourning due to the humanitarian tragedy that her country, Venezuela, is going through after the devastating earthquakes recorded on June 24.
Through a publication on her official Instagram account, the artist explained that, although she turned 30 last week, she did not feel it was the right time or setting to celebrate while thousands of her compatriots face the serious consequences of the natural disaster.
"Last week was my 30th birthday, but it didn't seem appropriate to celebrate it with everything that is happening in Venezuela. There is a time for everything. I love you," the influencer expressed sincerely.
His words were accompanied by a carousel of simple photos in which he is seen holding a modest birthday cupcake and sharing with his daughter, a gesture that he took advantage of to thank his fans for their expressions of affection and congratulations for this new return to the sun.
Active solidarity in networks and on the ground
Beyond a message of empathy, Pons decided to take action. Since the moment of the disaster, the Venezuelan took a radical turn to her social media profiles, using them exclusively to amplify calls for help and make visible the emergency situation experienced by those affected.
Likewise, the content creator has been directly involved in off-screen assistance work. In recent days, she has been seen actively working as a volunteer at the Global Empowerment Mission organization's collection center, located in Doral, Florida.
There, Pons has dedicated days to packing basic supplies and boxes of humanitarian aid that will be sent directly to the most impacted areas in Venezuela.
