Jacob Elordi cancels his participation as jury of the Cannes Festival after injury
The star of "Frankenstein" was forced to abandon his role as juror in the 79th edition of the festival due to a broken foot
The actor Jacob Elordi, known for his participation in productions such as “Frankenstein” and “Euphoria”, has been outside the jury group of the Ca Film Festival nnes 2026, scheduled to take place from 12 to 23 of May. According to Variety magazine, the organization would be in search of a replacement to complete the jury of the 79th edition of the prestigious festival due to a fracture in the star's foot.

Meet the jury of the 79th edition of the Cannes Festival
In the middle of the speculations about Jacob Elordi's health, the committee announced to the jury that it will award the Palme d'or to one of the 22 films that make up the Official Selection of the contest in its 2026 edition.
In the announcement it was reported that the jury will be chaired by the South Korean director, writer and producer Park Chan-wook, awarded within this festival thanks to titles such as “Old Boy”, “Thirst” and “Decision to Leave”.
Along with him, there will be 8 stars of the audiovisual scene, including actress Demi Moore, nominated for an Oscar for her performance in “The Substance”. Likewise, Ru is joining th Negga, the producer and star has an Oscar nomination for her role in “Loving”, a film that was part of the Official Selection of the festival in 2016.
Another star featured on the panel is Isaach De Bankolé, who gained international fame for his work on projects such as: “Black Mic-Mac”, “Casino Royale”, “Miami Vice”, “Black Panther” and “The Brutalist”. Stellan Skarsgård, with his career of more than 50 years, will provide a vision loaded with experience to choose the big winner of the 2026 edition.
The list of judges also stands out the Latin talent with Diego Céspedes, Chilean director and screenwriter who won the Un Certain Regard award for his first opera titled “The mysterious look”of flamenco”.
The expertise of director Chloé Zhao is added to the panel. Within her repertoire of projects stand out: “Songs My Brother Taught Me”, “Nomadland” and “Hamnet”, for which she was nominated by segu nda occasion at the Oscars for Best Director.
