Jennifer Lopez confessed that kissing scenes still make her nervous
At 56, the actress and singer admitted that kissing an unknown co-star in front of the cameras is still an uncomfortable challenge
Neither decades of experience nor the title of queen of romantic comedies exempt Jennifer Lopez from feeling butterflies—or rather tension—in her stomach when she has to film a romantic scene.
During the Los Angeles premiere of her new Netflix movie, “Office Romance,” the 56-year-old actress and singer confessed that filming kissing scenes still manages to completely take her out of her comfort zone.
“I've been doing this for a long time,” Lopez told People magazine. "I mean it's okay, but it's always something. It's like, 'Okay, I have to kiss this person that I don't know and I'm just getting to know.' You get a little nervous, that's all."
The artist explained that the pressure intensifies due to the technical environment of the set, surrounded by lights and huge cameras fixed on every movement.
On this occasion, his cinematic “victim” was the British actor Brett Goldstein, known for his role in “Ted Lasso.” Curiously, the project was born from Goldstein's own admiration for JLo, as he wrote the script with her in mind exclusively.
Despite the initial nerves and shyness of filming, the chemistry between the two flowed exceptionally. In fact, Lopez recently surprised on television by crowning Goldstein as “the best kisser” of his entire film career, surpassing renowned industry leading men such as George Clooney, Matthew McConaughey and Richard Gere.
“Office Romance,” which tells the secret romance between a powerful executive director and her employee, will arrive on the streaming platform on June 5.
