Jessie J marks his return to the stage after his breast cancer surgery
Jessie J made an emotional return to the stage at the Radio 2 In the Park festival eleven weeks after undergoing breast cancer surgery
This Saturday, September 6, the stage of the BBC's 'Radio 2 In the Park' festival in England witnessed a deeply emotional and symbolic moment. Jessie J, the renowned 37-year-old singer, returned to the stage for the first time since undergoing breast cancer surgery, a diagnosis she revealed to the public in early June.
Her return couldn't have been more special. She was dressed in a sparkly white outfit and brought her two-year-old son with her, for whom, it was learned, this was the first time he had seen his mother perform.
It was during her performance that the artist opened up to the audience. Addressing the audience with a mix of vulnerability and strength, she explained:

Despite medical warnings to take things easy, the "Domino" singer's energy was palpable. “You can take the girl out of Essex and put her back in Essex,” she joked, referring to her origins, before expressing her gratitude:
“I’m so grateful to be here; you have no idea how grateful I am to see so many of you singing with me after all these years.”
The most meaningful moment of the night came with a performance of ‘Living My Best Life’, a track that took on a deeper new meaning. Jessie J revealed that the song was released just two weeks after she was diagnosed with the disease.
“Everyone was like, ‘Stop, let’s just put everything on hold.’ And I was like, ‘That’s not what life’s about,’” she revealed.
He concluded his message with the following words: “This song is called 'Living My Best Life,' and that's what I do every day. Because we never know when our last day will be, so enjoy this, and hold tight to those you love.”
