Matthew Perry's Friends-related belongings to be auctioned
More than two years after the actor's death, around 130 objects owned by him will go on sale to raise funds against addictions
Dozens of the most prized belongings of the remembered actor Matthew Perry, remembered for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit series “Friends,” will be auctioned on June 5. The event, organized by Heritage Auctions in Dallas and online, seeks to honor the performer's legacy by supporting a cause close to his heart.
According to Page Six, the collection encompasses approximately 130 objects that span Perry's life from his childhood to his rise to stardom.
Among the most notable items are “Friends” memorabilia, such as a batch of 26 key episode scripts, including the series finale and the pilot episode script autographed by the entire cast, when the show was still provisionally titled “Six of One.”
Also notable are a replica of the famous yellow peephole frame in Monica's apartment and her Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award.
In addition to the television memorabilia, the auction stands out for Perry's valuable artistic collection. Among the objects that will go on sale are works by renowned urban artist Banksy, such as “Girl with Balloon” and “Nola,” whose estimated value is around one million dollars.
His fanaticism for Batman is also reflected in pieces such as a luxurious Memorigin watch with the superhero's emblem and a personalized ping-pong table.
The funds raised will go entirely to the Matthew Perry Foundation, created after his death in 2023 at age 54 due to the acute effects of ketamine. The organization is dedicated to combating the stigma of addiction and expanding access to rehabilitation treatment, a struggle that marked the actor's life.
