Taylor Swift officially announced the release of a documentary series and an extended film about the closing of her historic world tour The Eras Tour.
The American singer shared the news this Monday through her social networks with a brief preview of both productions, which will arrive on Disney + on December 12.
“It was the end of an era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed the filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it ended. And to film the final show in its entirety,” he said in his post.
The projects, titled The End of an Era and Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour: The Final Show promises to give an in-depth look behind the scenes, at the impact and experience of a tour that spanned 51 cities in 21 months.
The documentary series will consist of six episodes directed by Don Argott and will address the preparation, technical details, creative and personal aspects of the tour that Taylor Swift describes as the biggest and most intense chapter of her life.
The production will also include interviews with figures close to the singer and offer never-before-seen testimonies from the team behind the show.
Meanwhile, the film The Eras Tour: Final Show is an extended version of the final concert of the tour and will include songs from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department, released in the middle of the tour.
This film joins the film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, recorded in 2023 at SoFi Stadium, which was the highest-grossing concert film according to Guinness World Records.
