Zuleyka Rivera breaks the silence and talks about her departure from 'Miss Universe Latina, The Reality Show'
The program had a good premise, but the way they executed it ended up leaving a bad taste in the mouths of the television audience...
“That's not what I was hired for,” says Zuleyka Rivera. The former beauty queen and captain of one of the teams on Telemundo's "Miss Universe Latina, El Reality" broke her silence in an interview with the network at its Puerto Rico headquarters. Zuleyka started as part of the program alongside Alicia Machado as team captains. The judging panel consisted of Aracely Arambula, Fabian Rios, and David Salomon. Jacqueline Bracamontes also served as the host for this season. The project initially sounded tempting and promising. Who wouldn't be drawn to the idea of ??a reality show with contestants eager to become beauty queens, with the prize being a spot in the Miss Universe pageant? However, the show ended up being a disappointment for many. Zuleyka broke her silence in Puerto Rico and explained that she disagreed with many things that were happening, especially mentioning the dynamics within the competition. And many of us who watched this first season also pointed out that many of those challenges were absurd and bordered on the ridiculous. The former beauty queen states that her name was involved and that at the end of the day, the public distributed their criticism about the people who were the faces of the show, and that this, in addition to the situations that already made her uncomfortable with the project, led her to resign. She says that she would have liked to say goodbye publicly to the girls, but that she couldn't do it as she would have liked. She assures that she apologized to them for abandoning them, but also emphasizes that time proved her right. "Every cloud has a silver lining. And the best thing I could have done was stay in my corner," Zuleyka explained. Unfortunately, the program remained just a good idea, which the production didn't know how to execute. Because although the host was very good and the captains also had the name recognition and experience to be able to do their job in front of the participants, The dynamics and the poor performance of the jury led the project to failure. The evaluators didn't know how to judge, and they saw in every contestant the image of a former pageant queen, when the flaws in many of the participants were clearly visible. Complacency has no place in a program that judges talent so rigorously to find the next Miss Universe.
