Bhagalpur: An eight-year-old girl Phoolan Kumari, who was brought to the emergency ward for treatment, died in an atmosphere of chaos during the junior doctors' strike on Monday at Mayaganj Hospital. After the death of the girl, a resident of Padampur village of Banka Rajoun, the family created a ruckus in the emergency ward and hospital premises.

Keeping the dead body outside the emergency ward, Sudhir Kumar, the brother of the deceased girl, abused the doctors. At the same time, the hospital management was accused of negligence. Sudhir told that his sister was suffering from pneumonia. After his condition deteriorated on Monday morning, he was brought from Rajoun to Mayaganj Hospital at around 11.45 am.

Despite the serious condition of the patient, the doctors did not start the treatment soon. Despite repeated requests, the child was not given an oxygen mask. Instead of treatment, doctors and other staff were engaged in questioning for about 15 minutes. During this the girl died. While the girl's oxygen level was continuously decreasing due to breathlessness. Hearing the uproar, hospital superintendent Dr Asim Kumar Das and Barari police station reached the spot. At the same time, the family was pacified after being understood and extinguished.

Sudhir, the brother of the deceased girl, told that while coming from Aliganj to Mayaganj Hospital, there was a huge jam from Gudhatta Chowk, Ultapul, Ghantaghar to Kachari Chowk and Tilkamanjhi Chowk. There is a delay of about 45 minutes in reaching the hospital. Had she not been stuck in the jam, the girl's life would have been saved.

Mayaganj Hospital Superintendent Dr. Asim Kumar Das told that the girl was brought to the hospital in a dead state. He had died on the way. The relatives of the deceased have alleged negligence in the hospital. If they make a written complaint about it, then it will be investigated.
