Action of Election Commission: Names of 10 lakh voters removed from voter list, strict action on duplicate voters
The Election Commission of India has taken action to remove the names of duplicate voters from the electoral rolls of all the state assemblies.
Patna: This year, the names of about 10 lakh voters have been removed from the list of voters of the state so far. The final voter list of the state was published on January 5, 2022. After that, the Election Commission of India has taken action to remove the names of duplicate voters from the voter list of all the state assemblies. Duplicate voters were matched by the commission through similar photo software. The names of nine lakh 81 thousand 921 voters of the state have been removed from the voter list on matching of two photos of one voter.
Names of 1 lakh voters have been removed from the list in Patna.
Mithilesh Kumar Sahu, the nodal officer of the state electoral list, said that on the basis of identical photos in the state, the names of one lakh voters in Patna district have been removed from the list. Apart from this, the names of 58 thousand 858 voters have been removed from the list in Darbhanga district. The names of 47 thousand 558 duplicate voters have been removed from the list of Madhubani district, while the names of 46 thousand 903 duplicate voters were removed from the voters list of Sitamarhi district on the basis of double photographs.
Aadhaar of 26 lakh voters linked with voter list in East Champaran
Following the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the process of linking Aadhaar with the names of voters has started from August 1 at all the booths in the state. So far, the Aadhaar of four crore 37 thousand voters of the state has been linked with the voter list. The Aadhaar of about 26 lakh voters has been linked with the voter list in East Champaran district.
Name of six lakh 82 thousand new voters
Since the last voter list published on January 5 this year, the voters of the state applied for inclusion of names in the voter list. A total of six lakh 82 thousand new voters have been included in the list so far in the state before the publication of the draft voter list. The name of maximum 77 thousand 154 voters has been added in the voter list in Supaul district. After this, names of 39 thousand 537 voters were added in West Champaran district, while 35 thousand 600 new voters were included in the voter list in East Champaran district.
