Agnipath Protest: Due to the ongoing protests against the Agnipath scheme of the Central Government, the Eastern Railway has canceled several trains connecting Kolkata and other areas of West Bengal on Sunday. At the same time, the timing of some trains has also been changed. An Eastern Railway official said that the Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express left Howrah station at 3.15 pm. Similarly, he talked about the departure of Poorva Express at 4.50 pm.

According to the news agency PTI-language report, the Eastern Railway official said that on Sunday many others including Howrah-Kalka Netaji Express, Kolkata-Amritsar Express, Yog Nagri Rishikesh-Doon Express, Sealdah-Jayanagar Gangasagar Express and Kolkata-Gorakhpur Purvanchal Express Express trains were cancelled. Let us inform that there have been protests at various places against the Agneepath scheme. The Howrah-Dibrugarh Kamrup Express has also been canceled for Sunday due to operational constraints, the official said. Several districts of Assam are in the grip of floods, due to which transport services have come to a standstill.
Internet service suspended in parts of Murshidabad district
Earlier, Internet services were suspended in some parts of West Bengal's Murshidabad district on Saturday as a precautionary measure. Police informed that internet services have been suspended till Monday morning in Beldanga, Rejinagar and Shaktipur police station areas of the district. To prevent the spread of rumours, we have decided to temporarily suspend internet services in three police station areas of the district and internet services will be restored on Monday morning, an official said. The decision to suspend internet services has been taken following intelligence reports about possible violence, he said.
