Airport News: Everything was going well like every day that afternoon at Terminal-3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). Immigration officer Rajesh Kumar posted at counter number 21 was busy in scrutinizing the documents of passengers coming from abroad. Then at around 1:15 pm something happened which stunned everyone present in the immigration area.

According to airport sources, a passenger named Akhtar Mohammad Qureshi, who came from Kabul by flight number RQ-4401, reached the counter of immigration officer Rajesh for document scrutiny. He presented his American passport for scrutiny. While turning the pages of the passport, Rajesh suddenly saw an Indian voter ID card.

This voter ID card was present in the hands of Akhtar Mohammad Qureshi. In this voter ID card, his name was Akhtar Manhamad Wazir Khan, who was said to be the son of Wazir Khan. Rajesh wondered how an American citizen could have an Indian voter ID? When Rajesh started questioning Akhtar, the story became more complicated. Akhtar said that he is originally from Afghanistan and he has been living in India since 2006. In the same year, he had obtained an Indian voter ID card with the help of fake documents. The immigration officer was worried after listening to him. Akhtar further said that after coming in contact with some Afghan citizens, he thought of going to America. But the question still remained about the Indian voter ID. The Immigration Bureau immediately detained Akhtar. After preliminary interrogation, he was handed over to IGI Airport. IGI Airport has arrested the accused Akhtar and started investigating the case.
