Gyanvapi Case Update: The Allahabad High Court has directed to present the petition on 21 November for hearing on the demand of conducting a scientific survey including carbon dating of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex. Notices have been issued to the opposition including the state government. The order of dismissal of the application by the District Court of Varanasi has been challenged in the High Court.

According to the information, the parties in their petition had demanded a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex in the district court, Varanasi. The court dismissed this appeal on 14 October. The court had said in that hearing that doing so could damage the construction. The Supreme Court has ordered to maintain the status quo on the campus. After this, this decision of the District Court has been challenged in a new petition. Actually, ASI, UP government and others have been made parties in the petition. Justice JJ Munir has given this order on the revision petition of the petitioner Lakshmi Devi and three others. Advocates Harishankar Jain and Vishnu Shankar Jain argued on the petition.

Earlier, the Allahabad High Court had expressed deep displeasure over not filing the affidavit of the Director General of ASI. Along with this, a compensation of ten thousand rupees was imposed on the Cultural Department of the Central Government. It is necessary to know here that in May 2022, on the orders of the court, the survey of Gyanvapi campus was done. In this survey, the alleged Shivling has been found from the Vazukhana of Gyanvapi Masjid. The demand of the Hindus was that they should get the right to worship on this Shivling and the entry of non-Hindus should be barred. Apart from this, the full rights of the premises should be handed over to the Hindus only.
