After the order of Allahabad High Court, the work of ASI's survey of Gyanvapi campus has started on Friday morning. On the first day, the survey was conducted in two phases from 9 am to 5 pm. During this, the Muslim side i.e. Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee distanced itself. Due to Friday prayers at 2 pm, the survey process was stopped for about 1.30 pm. Now the survey will start again on Saturday morning.
The Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee will cooperate in the survey from Saturday. This information was given by Syed Mohammad Yaseen, Joint Secretary of Sham Masajid Committee. Earlier, during the survey in Gyanvapi on Friday and last 24th July, the representatives of Masjid Committee were not present. The Masjid Committee had decided to stay away from the ASI survey by keeping distance from it.
Honoring the Supreme Court's decision
Syed Mohammad Yasin said that the Supreme Court has refused to give a stay order on the ASI's survey. In such a situation, the Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee has unanimously decided that respecting the decision of the Supreme Court, it will cooperate in the scientific survey of ASI.
We hope that the direction of the court will be followed in a fair manner and no harm will come to our mosque. Also, our religious rights will be protected by the Supreme Court order dated 17 May 2022. Syed Mohammad Yasin said that we appeal to all to respect the order of the court and maintain complete peace. Never pay attention to rumours. Keep ignoring people's rhetoric, it is for everyone's good. Let us hold firmly to the basic mantra of peace, restraint and harmony.
ASI asks court for four weeks time to submit survey report
In the midst of the survey in Gyanvapi, Amit Srivastava, Standing Counsel of the Government of India, on behalf of the ASI in the District Judge's Court, requested to be given four weeks time to file the report. The court order is yet to come on this.
Advocate Amit Srivastava said that the work of the survey could not be done till August 3 due to the stay of the Supreme Court and then the High Court. Due to this, the survey report sought by the District Judge's court on August 4 could not be filed. Now after the High Court has lifted the stay, the survey work has started from August 4.
