The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across various regions of Jharkhand from July 30 to August 1, attributed to the developing low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal. In response, the IMD has issued yellow and orange alerts for different parts of the state. On July 30, heavy rains are expected in the southern, southwestern, and central regions of the state, with significant rainfall also anticipated in the adjacent northern areas.
Heavy Rainfall Predicted in Several Districts
On July 31, the IMD predicts torrential downpours in Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Ranchi, and Khunti districts, prompting the issuance of an orange alert. Additionally, the southeastern, northwestern, and nearby areas may also experience heavy rainfall. On August 1, rain is likely in the northwestern and adjacent north-central parts of the state, with lightning expected in several locations.
Recent Weather Conditions
Over the past 24 hours, Jamshedpur recorded 2 mm of rainfall. While Sunday afternoon saw bright sunshine, light drizzles occurred around 5 PM. According to the weather department, similar conditions will prevail until August 1. Notably, Bokaro experienced the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours with 70 mm, followed by Kanke with 45 mm, and Rajdhanwar with 40 mm of rainfall.
Weather Alerts for Specific Districts
The IMD has issued a rainfall forecast for July 30 in the districts of Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Gumla, Khunti, Simdega, and West Singhbhum. On July 31, alerts have been issued for Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan. For the first day of August, heavy rainfall is anticipated in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Giridih, and Bokaro.
