A horrific accident took place on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Firozabad district of the state in the early hours of Wednesday. The bus collided with the DCM near the milestone number 61.200 kilometer of the expressway in Thana Nagla Khangar area. There is news of the death of six people in the accident, while 22 passengers are said to be injured. Nine injured have been sent to Shikohabad hospital, while the rest have been referred to Saifai. The dead include a child, a woman and four men. Taking cognizance of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the accident. Expressing condolences towards the dead, he has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured.
The bus fell into the pit after the collision
It is being told that a sleeper bus was going from Ludhiana to Rae Bareli. There were about 60 passengers in the bus. In the early hours of Wednesday, the bus collided with the DCM running ahead on the expressway in Nagla Khangar area. After this, the bus broke the railing and got down from the expressway and went into the pit. There was an outcry after the accident.
Relief work done with the help of local people
On information, the police started the rescue work with the help of the local people and the injured were taken out of the bus. After this he was sent to the hospital. Police station said that six people have died in the accident. Prima facie, the reason for the accident is being told that the driver had dozed off. This bus left from Ludhiana on Tuesday evening. Police is investigating. SP Rural Kumar Ranvijay told that a woman and her 15-month-old child are also included in the dead. The deceased are residents of Kanpur, Unnao, Firozabad, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur and Rae Bareli districts.
