A major accident has happened in Bhitargaon in Ghatampur area in Kanpur. A tractor-trolley full of devotees overturned uncontrollably near Bhadeuna village of Bhitargaon. In this 26 people died, while 50 people were seriously injured. The station in-charge has been suspended due to negligence in this matter. Outer Kanpur SP TS Singh said investigation is underway. If anyone else is found guilty then action will be taken.

According to the information received, the residents of Kortha village had gone to Fatehpur in a shaving ceremony. At the same time, after getting shaved off, the tractor rider along with the trolley fell into the water after the accident. The incident caused a terrible cry. The trolley could not be pulled out for half an hour. Due to this, most of the people have died underwater.

High officials of police and administration are reaching the spot. It is being told that there were about 50 people in the tractor. 26 people have died. Many children and women were also among the dead. Police administration officers are reaching the spot and the rescue operation is going on.

PM Modi and CM Yogi expressed grief, announced compensation An announcement has been made from the PM Relief Fund to give Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the person killed in the accident and Rs 50,000 to the injured. At the same time, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death of people in the Ghatampur tractor-trolley accident.

Expressing his condolences to the bereaved family members, he directed them to ensure proper treatment of those injured in the accident. A compensation of Rs 50,000 has been announced for the injured and Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased. 

About 26 people were killed, while others were seriously injured when the tractor trolley overturned in Helot Hospital Kanpur Nagar, which was converted into a cantonment . Eight ambulances 108 and 102 immediately admitted the patients to CSC on the spot. After that the patients are being referred to Hallett Medical College. Hallet Hospital has been converted into a cantonment. At the same time, patients already admitted in the hospital have been shifted to the wards.
