Subhaspa president Omprakash Rajbhar and Dara Singh Chauhan, who left the SP and joined the BJP, were discussed in Delhi on Friday on the expansion of the Yogi cabinet. At the same time, discussions were held between the state and the top leadership of the party regarding the Ghosi seat of Mau district, which fell vacant due to the resignation of Dara Singh, and the Ghazipur seat, which fell vacant due to the cancellation of membership of BSP MP Afzal Ansari.
According to sources, after Subhaspa joined the NDA, there is now pressure to expand the cabinet and make Omprakash Rajbhar a minister before the monsoon session of the Legislature. Subhaspa wants to be present in the house as an ally in the government. Dara Singh Chauhan is also to be made a minister. The leaders of the ruling party believe that contesting the by-elections from Ghosi to Dara Singh as a minister would give political advantage in the elections. On the other hand, Mahendra Singh, who was the Minister of Water Power in Yogi Government 1.0, former MSME Minister Siddharthnath Singh, former Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma and the young MLAs of the government are also in the race to become ministers.
According to sources, the party's national president JP Nadda has called state president Bhupendra Chaudhary to Delhi in view of the cabinet expansion and by-elections along with the meeting with the MPs of UP in the coming days. Feedback has also been taken from Chowdhary regarding MPs. Discussions have also been held on deciding the future strategy on the basis of the feedback revealed during BL Santosh's two-day stay in Lucknow in the past. It is noteworthy that there was a meeting between Nadda and Bhupendra Chowdhary on Thursday as well.
