NIA: Strong attack on Jihadi Terror in 365 days, 73 cases registered and charge sheet against 368 accused

The National Investigation Agency 'NIA' has dealt a severe blow to Jihadi terrorism in the year 2022. Compared to the last few years, this time the NIA has investigated the maximum number of cases related to terror. In 2022, NIA has registered 73 cases. In earlier years this figure has been less than 61. The special thing is that under the 73 cases that have been registered this time, the investigating agency has shown its prowess in cases related to Jihadi terror. This year, 59 charge sheets have been filed against 368 accused in various cases. The conviction rate in these cases has been 94.39 percent.
The National Investigation Agency had registered 61 cases last year. There has been an increase of 19.67 percent in registering cases this year. Out of 73 cases registered by NIA, 35 cases have been registered regarding Jihadi Terror. The states where Jihadi terror cases have been registered include Jammu Kashmir, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal.
11 cases have been registered in Jammu and Kashmir. 10 cases have been registered in Naxal affected areas, 5 cases in North East, 7 cases in PFI related cases. Four cases have been registered in Punjab. Apart from this, three cases have been registered regarding gangster, terror and smuggler nexus. One case of tater funding and two cases of Fake Indian Currency Notes 'FICN' have been registered.
NIA has arrested 456 accused this year. These include 19 fugitives. Two accused have been deported. An accused has been extradited. This year, the court's decision has come in 38 cases. All have been convicted. 109 people have been sentenced to severe punishment. They have also been fined. Six people have been sentenced to life imprisonment. Eight people have been declared as individual terrorists under UAPA.
NIA has successfully organized the 'No Money for Terror' Ministerial Conference (Counter-Terrorism Financing) in November. 78 countries and 16 multinational organizations participated in it. In the coming times, India will play an important role in ending terrorism at the global level.
