The NIA ( National Investigation Agency ) this morning conducted raids in several areas of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to investigate the case of links with terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers. NIA officials have given information regarding the raid.
Raids on more than 50 places
NIA officials said that a total of 50 places have been raided in these states. The agency had registered a case on August 26 by identifying the terrorists and those with gangster links. It is worth noting that the Delhi Police was earlier investigating this matter. Now the agency has taken the command of the investigation in its own hands.
Many objectionable items recovered during raid
After taking over the probe, the agency conducted raids in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi on September 12. At that time raids were also conducted at the gangster involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala. During the raid, six pistols including ammunition, a revolver and a 'shotgun' besides cash, incriminating documents were recovered.
Raids at three places in Patna
NIA today raided three places in Punjab's Bathinda, including the residence of Kabaddi promoter Jagga. At the same time, NIA raids are going on at two places in Bihar's capital Patna in connection with PFI. In Bihar, earlier three people were arrested in this case.
