The actions cover both combustion versions and the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV. Although the drawbacks are different, Ford recommends verifying as soon as possible if the vehicle is part of the campaigns and scheduling a visit to the dealership to make the corresponding repairs, which will be at no cost to customers.

The availability of solutions will depend on each case, as some repairs will be ready before others. In the meantime, the company will begin contacting owners in a phased manner.
Problems with the windshield wiper system
The first campaign involves 67,842 units of Ford Mustang models 2024 to 2026, in addition to the exclusive Mustang GTD from model years 2025 and 2026. The recall was registered with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with file 26V418000.
According to the information disclosed, the problem is related to the windshield wiper assembly. In low temperature conditions, the system could only operate at its maximum speed and, additionally, the windshield washer could stop operating correctly.
Although it is not a mechanical failure of the engine or transmission, it does represent a significant risk because reduced visibility in rain, snow or dirt on the road increases the chances of suffering an accident, especially when weather conditions are adverse.
As part of the fix, dealers will inspect the system and replace the wiper motor if necessary. Ford will begin sending preliminary notifications from July 8, 2026, while the final repair would be available towards the end of March 2027. Internally, this campaign is identified with the code 26C32.
The Mustang Mach-E also makes the list
The second campaign corresponds to 42,784 units of the Ford Mustang Mach-E manufactured between 2021 and 2023. In this case, the problem is found in the rear differential pinion shaft, a fundamental component for transmitting power to the wheels.
According to file 26V417000, that part could fracture and cause a loss of traction. There is also an additional risk scenario when the vehicle remains parked. If it is in the “Park” position without the parking brake engaged, there is a possibility that the car may move unexpectedly.
Ford said it will replace or repair the rear differential assembly at no cost to owners. The first communications will begin to be sent from July 13, 2026 and the brand estimates that the final solution will be available before the end of December of this year. This campaign corresponds to the internal code 26S50.
How to check if a Mustang is included
Owners can confirm if their vehicle is part of any of these recalls by using the vehicle identification number (VIN). The consultation is now available through the NHTSA platform and allows you to verify the status of the vehicle even before receiving the official notification by mail.
Ford also recommends contacting an authorized dealer or its customer service to find out the availability of repairs and schedule the corresponding inspection. In this way, owners will be able to solve either of the two failures without assuming additional costs.
