Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav unveiled the party's manifesto, titled 'Vision Document 2024: People's Demand Letter, Our Rights', in Lucknow on Wednesday ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Emphasizing inclusivity, Yadav stated that the manifesto was a culmination of suggestions gathered from the public through social media platforms and various organizations.

Addressing the key issues, Akhilesh Yadav assured farmers of guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) and pledged to focus on generating employment opportunities for the youth, particularly in rural areas where unemployment rates remain high. He criticized the incumbent government for its alleged failure to address unemployment and reservations, accusing it of deliberately leaking examination papers to hinder job opportunities for the youth.

Outlined in the manifesto are several promises, including the implementation of an old pension scheme for women, conducting a caste-based census by 2025, and filling all vacant government posts reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) by 2025. Additionally, the SP manifesto vows to eradicate hunger and poverty by 2029, provide MSP to farmers based on the Swaminathan formula, waive off agricultural loans, and ensure free irrigation for farmers.

Other highlights of the manifesto include the establishment of markets every 10 kilometers in agricultural states, setting up a rolling fund of Rs 10,000 crore for timely payment to sugarcane farmers, and increasing wages under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). The SP also pledges to implement a laptop distribution scheme for youth nationwide, enforce a complete ban on corruption, and provide free data worth Rs 500 to ration cardholders.

Furthermore, the manifesto promises to allocate 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs, including the police force, and provide a party pension of Rs 3000 per month to women below the poverty line. The SP's manifesto aims to address a wide range of issues affecting various sections of society and outlines its vision for governance and development if elected to power.
