Christian Eriksen does not give up and will start a rehabilitation program
After his second collapse in the middle of a match, Christian Eriksen will work on a rehabilitation process. Eriksen plays with an automatic defibrillator
Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who fainted on June 7 during a friendly match against Ukraine (2-1), will soon begin an individual rehabilitation program, which he will carry out in his country, his club, Wolfsburg, reported this Thursday.
"Christian Eriksen will soon begin an individual rehabilitation program. After a conversation with the general director of VfL (Wolfsburg), Dieter Hecking, it was decided that the 34-year-old player will carry out this process in his native country, Denmark," the German club indicated in a message on its social networks.
Wolfsburg, a team that will play the 2026-2027 campaign in the second division, maintains constant contact with the footballer and the doctors who are treating him, he added.
Eriksen, who has had a pacemaker since suffering a similar incident at Euro 2021, collapsed in June on the hour mark during Denmark's friendly match against Ukraine.
He left the field on his own and was evacuated from the field consciously to be transferred to the Odense University Hospital (south).
He was unconscious for a few moments, but quickly regained consciousness.
Eriksen already suffered a heart problem in the Euro 2021 match against Finland and then resumed his career with certain precautions and care.
The Danish international carries an automatic defibrillator in his body that must be activated in these cases.
