Late at night in Charpokhari, a devastating road accident shook the area, resulting in the tragic demise of three individuals on the spot. Over a dozen others sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at Ara Sadar Hospital. The incident occurred near Mukundpur village within the jurisdiction of Charpokhari police station. Upon receiving reports of the accident, local authorities promptly arrived at the scene, and the injured were swiftly transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
The aftermath of the accident plunged the locality into mourning as what was supposed to be a joyous wedding celebration turned into a scene of sorrow and despair. Villagers rushed to the site to assist the injured, relocating them to Charpokhari Primary Health Center for immediate medical aid. Reports indicate that a tractor, returning from a wedding ceremony in Tilak, veered off the road and overturned into a canal near Mukundpur village.
Among the tragic fatalities were Bhadai Musahar, aged 60, hailing from Khairi village of Tiwaridih in Agiaon Bazar area, Nirmal Musahar, aged 40, son of Jagdish Musahar, also from Tiwaridih Khairi village, and Tengari Musahar, aged 40, resident of Natampur village in Gadhani police station area, and son of Jagat Musahar. Jagat Musahar and Nirmal Musahar were brothers-in-law.
Additionally, approximately fifteen individuals sustained severe injuries in the accident and are currently receiving treatment across various hospitals in the district and Ara Sadar Hospital. Bigan Kumar, one of the survivors, recounted that the group of 20 to 25 individuals from Khairi village had traveled on a tractor to attend the Tilak ceremony of Vinod Kumar's daughter, Phula Kumari, in Mukundpur village. Tragically, the tractor lost control near a canal, resulting in the fatal overturning.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rahul Singh of Piro confirmed that the passengers were returning from the Tilak ceremony when the accident occurred. An unexpected diversion near Mukundpur caused the tractor to veer off the road, leading to the tragic loss of three lives.
