Elon Musk continues to donate millions of dollars to the Republicans, Report Reveals
Elon Musk continues to support the Republican project in the face of the midterm elections
Despite continuing to be at odds with President Donald Trump, the richest man in the world continues to donate millions of dollars to the Republicans, this in view of the midterm elections to be held next year.
Days after having stopped serving as an employee government special in charge of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk began attacking the federal administration and even threatened the head of the nation with turning all his financial support to the Democrats. However, his words are far from his actions, as recently filed campaign finance reports show that the South African tycoon made significant contributions to the campaigns of some conservative candidates. On June 27, Elon Musk donated $5 million to the Senate Leadership Fund and the Congressional Leadership Fund, the two Republican Party super PACs. That same day, he transferred a similar amount of money to MAGA Inc., Donald Trump's super PAC.
While the amount of money donated by the visionary tech entrepreneur is noteworthy, it is still far below the more than $200 million he donated last year to back Donald Trump's return to the White House.
As of the end of June, the Republican National Committee (RNC) had raised more than $80.7 million in cash, already surpassing the Democrats by $65.5 million.
The importance of raising as much money as possible before the end of the year lies in securing the advertising space that ensure a greater impact on citizens, since the direction set by the midterm elections could reaffirm or diminish the power of the current federal administration.
In this sense, although Elon Musk announced the creation of his own party a few weeks ago,The fact that he continues to inject donations into Republican candidates demonstrates that he intends to curry favor with the president in order to guarantee the expansion of his companies' technological collaboration projects with certain federal agencies.
