John Kerry assures that it is impossible to erase a the Iranians their knowledge on nuclear bombs
As former Secretary of State, John Kerry warns that it will be difficult to suddenly eliminate the knowledge acquired by the Iranians on nuclear bombs
On Saturday afternoon, faced with the reluctance of the Iranian government to halt its uranium enrichment program and after Israel convinced it that it represented a threat to global security, the 77-year-old Democrat ordered a destructive military operation at three sites in the Islamic nation.
Minutes later, in a message to the nation, Trump described the action as a resounding success aimed at achieving peace as soon as possible.
“This is a historic moment for the United States, Israel and the world. Iran must now agree to end this war. A full load of bombs was dropped on the main site, Fordow. All plans are returning home safe and sound,” he said.
However, the exercise of power carried out by the American military does not seem to have completely intimidated the Iranians, because far from laying down their weapons and ending their conflict with Israel, they continued attacking.
In this regard, during an interview with CNN, John Kerry emphasized that Iran has already acquired a high level of knowledge to eventually create deadly nuclear bombs, and even if most of its facilities are destroyed, it may no longer be possible to stop them as Trump intends.
“You can't bomb the memory of how to make a bomb. You can't bomb the knowledge they've developed. You can't bomb the wide range of technicians who have worked on this for years and who will return to work if that is the mission entrusted to them by the country's leadership,” he said.
Then, The 81-year-old Democrat, who is quite familiar with how the Middle East unfolds, emphasized that one of the Iranians' greatest strengths is the pride with which they defend their ideals, making them one of the fiercest enemies the United States has ever faced.
“I think people need to be realistic here and understand what the options are. The Iranians are a very proud nation. One of the things I learned in my negotiations was that their pride was enormous. They are also committed to the destruction of Israel. That is a cultural, almost religious, component of their politics. That is why it is very difficult to predict what will bring them back to the negotiating table,” he emphasized.
