Congress has accused Union Minister Smriti Irani's daughter of running an illegal bar in Goa and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack the Union Minister for Women and Child Development. Here the Union Minister hit back at Congress and said – his daughter is being defamed. Will take this matter to court.

Responding to the Congress charge, Smriti Irani held a press conference and said, "My fault is that I defeated Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. Union Minister Smriti Irani said, in the Congress headquarters, two middle-aged men dared to tarnish the honor of an 18-year-old girl. His fault is that his mother contested against Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in 2014,2019 and Sonia Gandhi, PC on Rahul Gandhi's loot of 5,000 crores. Irani further said, the girl who attacked a Congress spokesperson laughing at the press conference is not in politics. The Congress spokesperson alleged that she (my daughter) runs an illegal bar. I want to tell Pawan Khera that my daughter studies in college, she does not run any bar. Challenging the Congress, the Union Minister said, show Rahul Gandhi by winning from Amethi in 2024.

These allegations have been denied by the daughter of Smriti Irani. Kirat Nagra, counsel for the Union minister's daughter, said in a statement that her client neither owns nor operates a restaurant named Silly Souls and has not received any show cause notice from any authority. Nagra said that wrong, malicious and derogatory social media posts are being made by many people with vested interests who are trying to gain political mileage along with his client's mother, eminent politician Smriti Irani. Terming the allegations as baseless, the lawyer said, "It is unfortunate that they are spreading false propaganda only to sensationalise pointless matter without verifying the facts and they are intent on defaming my client just because That she is the daughter of a leader.
