A new House Majority PAC poll shows Congressional Hispanic Caucus-backed candidate JoAnna Mendoza beginning to pull away from Republican Juan Ciscomani in Arizona's 6th Congressional District heading into the 2026 midterm elections.

According to the new statistic, Mendoza She leads 42% to 41% in the head-to-head matchup, a boost that comes on the heels of her strong third-quarter fundraising, where she outpaced Ciscomani and garnered more than $1.9 million in support since launching her campaign. JoAnna Mendoza is a retired Marine and the daughter of farmworkers seeking a historic congressional seat. A female Marine veteran has never been elected to Congress. According to her official biography, during her 20-year military career, she served as a sexual assault prevention and response instructor and staff warrant officer. Her service also includes deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, despite Juan Ciscomani being the first Mexican immigrant elected to the House of Representatives from Arizona's 6th District, his support appears to be waning. According to the poll, nearly half of voters disapprove of his performance in Congress.

He's even been accused of backing radical MAGA policies, from cutting healthcare and automatically approving Trump's tariff agenda to protecting tax breaks for billionaires while Arizona workers are left even further behind.

For now, with one year until the midterm elections, Mendoza is beginning to gain momentum; she even raised more funds than the Republican in the third quarter. She even raised an estimated $696,000 between July 1 and September 30.

Given the response, Mendoza said she was "deeply moved by the outpouring of support our campaign has received."
