The summit organized by Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi sends “a signal that peace is possible if the international community acts together,” but this experience must also be extended to the rest of the world.

“But this must not only be possible in this place, but also in other regions of the world,” the German leader continued. “For us Europeans, this war in Europe is the greatest threat to our freedom,” he said, referring to the invasion of Ukraine by Vladimir Putin's regime.
Regarding Gaza, Merz celebrated the end of the conflict upon his arrival in Egypt for a ceremony commemorating the peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.
After landing in Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday, the foreign minister stated that October 13, 2025, will be “an important day in history, both for this region (the Middle East) and for the entire world.”
