Most Americans say Trump isn't fit to govern, poll reveals
New poll shows majority of Americans say President Trump doesn't have the ability to govern
59% of those surveyed said that Trump lacks the mental acuity necessary to lead the country, while 40% said that he is qualified and 1% omi posed the question. In regarding physical health, 55% indicated that the president does not enjoy sufficient condition to govern, compared to 44% who opinionated the opposite.
Disapproval of President Trump Increases
In addition, 54% of participants said that they do not consider Trump a strong leader, and 67% said that they do not think carefully about important decisions, reflecting a growing e skepticism about his ability to make strategic decisions. These results concur with other recent measurements that show an increase in the presidential disapproval rating.
Among the worrying factors, respondents mentioned affordability arising from the war with Iran and tariffs. The closing of the Strait Ormuz, a strategic point through which one fifth of the world's oil transits, has caused an increase in the prices of gasoline and energy.
The survey indicates that 50% believe that gasoline prices will worsen next year, while 21% expect an improvement, 15% consider they will stay the same,and 13% are unsure of future conditions.
The Secretary of Transport, Sean Duffy, assured that the opening of the strait will allow an immediate lower in prices, although he warned that it will take time to get back to it s pre-conflict levels. Trump, for his part, claimed last month that gasoline costs will decrease “hugely” before the midterm elections.
They disapprove of the war against Iran
Regarding the conflict with Iran, 61% of those surveyed opinionated that the war has increased the threat of terrorism against Americans. 11% considered that it has reduced, 26% claimed that it hasn't generated a difference and 2% omitted the response.
The survey was conducted online from April 24-28 with 2,560 American adults and has a margin of error of 2.2 points the percentages, which allows to have a representative vision of public opinion on the capacity and performance of the president.
