Following her defeat in the primaries where she intended to win the Republican vote to continue fueling her desire to aspire to become governor of South Carolina, Nancy Mace came to the conclusion that the time has come to end her adventure as a congresswoman.

The 48-year-old Republican did not pass the filter to advance to the second round and therefore, through a message shared on platform

"When I ran in 2020 I said I would only serve three terms and my time was up. I will return to the private sector at the end of this term, as the founders envisioned. It has been an immense honor and I wouldn't change it for the world," he wrote.

Promoting himself for months as the version of “Trump in heels” was of little use to Mace, because when it came to offering his support to the candidate with the greatest arguments to obtain the Republican candidacy in search of becoming governor of South Carolina, the president of the nation opted for Pam Evette.

From that moment on, Mace's campaign suffered a serious blow to its credibility and, upon reaching the polls, much of its presumed strength disappeared.

The Republican who aired confidential sexual harassment settlements paid for by the House of Representatives closed in fifth position in her party's primary aimed at defining the possible successor Henry McMaster, still governor of South Carolina.

In this way, the conservative candidacy will be defined between Pamela Evette, lieutenant governor of South Carolina; and Alan Wilson, state attorney general, this after both advanced to the second round, to be held on June 23.

Aside from having decided to soon pause her ties to politics, Nancy Mace will be remembered for having proposed a constitutional amendment that would prohibit naturalized people from serving in Congress.

"For too long we have allowed foreign-born members to occupy seats in this government, making it clear that for them the United States comes last, not first. We see it every day. This constitutional amendment will put an end to that," he emphasized.
