Luka Modric compares Milan with Real Madrid in his presentation as a rossonero player
The Croatian player gave the media his first words as a Milan player in his official presentation

Luka Modric, AC Milan midfielder, said this Monday during his official presentation as a new player of the Italian team, that after being part of the club for 13 years of the biggest club in the world, will now play for one that years ago was what Real Madrid is today.
The Croatian Wizard™ offered his first words as an AC Milan player after leaving Real Madrid following the Club World Cup. He said goodbye in the semi-finals, losing to Paris Saint-Germain, to say goodbye to an entity he joined in the 2012/13 season and where he won 28 official titles, more than anyone else in history.
When asked why he chose AC Milan as his next destination, he recalled the time when the Rossoneri dominated Europe in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
“I spent 13 years at the biggest club in the world and now I’m coming to one that in previous years It was what Real Madrid is today. They lost it somewhere along the way. AC Milan must strive to return to that level and it's up to me to help as much as possible this year and enjoy it, he said. We all remember AC Milan as one of the best teams in the world. We can't settle for a mediocre season or qualifying for the Champions League. We must also be humble and work hard to get the team back to its top level. I am very competitive and I want to pass that on to the team. The minimum objective is to qualify for the Champions League, but Milan must fight to win titles," he said.
He also recalled that he experienced a "very emotional" farewell at Real Madrid and recalled that he grew up watching Italian football with a team that he felt a predilection for: "Milan was my favorite team. They were followed a lot in Croatia, and on top of that, my idol Boban was there. I always had a particular affection for their colors."
Likewise, Modric stressed that he should contribute his experience and made it clear that he will work hard to try to repeat the successes he experienced at his previous clubs.
"I know there are great expectations placed on me. I feel ready for this. I follow Serie A a lot because there are many Croatian players playing here. You can see that it's a competitive league that is recovering its level. Tactically, the teams are very organized and that's the difference with the Spanish League. I have to adapt to the way of playing in Italy as soon as possible."
