Inter Miami was the only team to advance to the round of 16, while LAFC and Seattle Sounders each earned just one point out of a possible 18.
The Seattle Sounders were eliminated in last place from Group B after falling to Botafogo, Atlético Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Seattle scored two goals and conceded seven. The team finished with a -5 record and conceded at least two goals in all three matches.
LAFC, meanwhile, finished the group stage with two losses and a draw. The team only managed to score one goal in their final game against Flamengo.
LAFC lost to Chelsea and Esperance Tunis. They finished last in their group after qualifying for the Club World Cup through the play-off against América.
Inter Miami, the only Concacaf team in the round of 16
Inter Miami is, as of this writing, the only Concacaf team to have qualified for the round of 16 of the Club World Cup.
LAFC, Seattle Sounders and Pachuca have no chance of advancing. Only Rayados de Monterrey will qualify if they defeat Urawa Reds of Japan.
Inter Miami advanced to the round of 16 without losing a match and with a 2-1 victory over Porto.
Monterrey could secure qualification against Urawa
After two consecutive draws, Monterrey remains third in Group E, with two points and a chance to reach the last 16 phase.
The Mexican team will aim to maintain order at the back and, after that, look for goals with an attack that will be anchored by Argentine German Berterame, Spaniard Sergio Canales, Colombian Nelson Deossa and Argentine Lucas Ocampos.
“Urawak will be a tough opponent, but if we don't win, we don't deserve to qualify for the round of 16,” said Torrent, who will look for his players to maintain the good defense they didn't show in the Mexican Clausura soccer tournament and be forceful in the opponent's area.
