Raja Jackson, son of Rampage, sent a fighter to the hospital after a fierce beating
A wrestling show ended in real violence and sparked controversy in the sports world
What was supposed to be a scheduled match at a wrestling show turned into an episode of violence that ended with an athlete hospitalized. Raja Jackson, son of legendary UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, wildly punched his opponent during a Knokx Pro Wrestling event in California.
The incident occurred in front of hundreds of spectators and was broadcast live on Kick. The footage shows Jackson lifting his opponent, Stuart Smith (Syko Stu), and slamming him against the ring.
Immediately afterward, he lunged at him and landed a series of unscripted punches to the head. Smith was knocked unconscious, while the crowd reacted in bewilderment.
Referees and other fighters entered the ring to stop the assault. Despite the intervention, Smith ended up being rushed to a hospital, where he remains under observation due to his injuries.
Criticism and explanations after the attack
The Knokx Pro Wrestling organization expressed its categorical rejection of what happened and described it as an unprecedented event in its almost two decades of existence. "What was supposed to be a prearranged sequence turned into an actual act of violence," they said in a statement.
Specialist journalist Dave Meltzer also spoke out, stating that it was "one of the most disturbing scenes seen in a ring."
In the face of the controversy, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson came out to explain himself. He acknowledged that his son made a serious mistake and maintained that he should not have fought because he had suffered a concussion days before. “I don’t condone what my son did. It was a job gone horribly wrong,” he said. Raja Jackson, 25, was already a seasoned mixed martial arts veteran with an undefeated amateur record and a 2023 pro debut, which his father said played a role in his violent reaction to a scripted show.
