Cruz Azul never sanctioned Cata Dominguez Dominguez on controversial children's party
Julio Cesar
Julio Cesar “Cata” Dominguez held a controversial party to celebrate his son Matias's birthday. The celebration generated much criticism due to its narco theme, sparking countless complaints and calls for sanctions from Cruz Azul, which never materialized.
“I didn't receive any sanctions, neither financial nor financial. I didn't play two games to calm things down in the media. I spoke well with the president because they know me,” explained “Cata” Dominguez in this long conversation with Yosgart Gutierrez.
In fact, one of the photos featured an advertisement for “Chapiza,” a brand also linked to the Sinaloa drug trafficker; While the children who attended appeared in the images with paintball guns, countless users demanded that Cruz Azul's management sanction their emblematic player. But that sanction never came, as the former Cruz Azul defender himself stated on the podcast "El Re-Portero," hosted by Yosgart Gutierrez, where he declared that the party had no disciplinary consequences against him—no sanctions, punishments, or anything. He also denied that his departure from Cruz Azul was due to this incident. "You know, no, because we spoke with the president. The people in the league know the kind of person I am, the values ??I have. Yes, we made a mistake morally, but I don't regret that party, because I have the photos here, I have everything." At the time, I didn't want to bring it up or say too much, because it would just make things worse.”
“And deep down, as a family, we knew what had happened. Even the players reposted it, but what happened was that two or three days ago, the son of this person, a drug trafficker, had just been arrested. My son's birthday was two days later, but his birthday party was planned. The theme was Warzone, from Call of Duty, and he's a military man,” said one of the last remaining stars of the Cementeros team.
More details on the matter
“Cata” Dominguez also said that: “They left Cruz Azul training, my son,And they went there to the party. And some were wearing Cruz Azul gear because they'd just come from practice. Unfortunately, a friend of mine brought some caps that day, and the caps had, you know, the initials on them, but the kids, well, the songs they play now, the corridos, and those songs have the initials in them.” He added: “The little kids were playing. Unfortunately, in the photo, the kids are wearing those caps, my son is wearing one of them. Plus, he was wearing a vest from the laser tag game, with the guns that were there. And my son was the one who uploaded that photo, so with that photo, well, you know, it went viral. And they just caught this person, they linked him to this, they made a huge fuss. So, obviously, we were arriving in Tijuana. I got off the plane the next day, and I got like 50 or 100 messages, asking what happened.” Then I spoke with the president, I explained what happened.”
Cata was condemned on social media
Cata also assured that he wasn't punished, that he didn't play two games just to calm things down, but not because it was a sanction: “So I spoke with the president, the League, they didn't suspend me, because obviously it wasn't as they said, as they wanted to portray it; I did apologize for the moral issue, because obviously it's not a good image, for everyone, especially for all the children, because of the crime the country has been experiencing.”
