After becoming 2015 World Series champions by dramatically defeating the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7, the Dodgers are preparing to celebrate their victory in a big way with a parade through downtown Los Angeles.

The players will parade on double-decker buses, starting at 11 am this Monday, April 3 November.

The parade, which is expected to last 45 minutes and cover a 1.7-mile route, will begin at the intersection of Temple and Broadway streets; it will head west on Temple, then south on Grand Avenue, then west on 7th Street, and finally north on Figueroa Street, ending at 5th Street.

Fans are invited to gather along Grand Avenue to watch the parade, as it is the longest stretch of the parade route.

The players will leave their stadium at 10:45 am to be in downtown Los Angeles on time, and the parade will begin promptly at 11:00 am

I encourage all Dodgers fans to plan their attendance at the parade, be prepared, and celebrate peacefully, safely, and responsibly." Following the parade, the Dodgers announced a special ticketed event at Dodger Stadium, which will begin at approximately 12:15 pm The Dodgers warned Angelenos that there will not be time to travel between events. What recommendations are there for downtown employers and workers?

Mayor Bass's office employers encouraged to allow remote work or adjustments to schedules, as appropriate.

They recommended that workers use public transportation if they work downtown.

What can I do after the parade?

Downtown Los Angeles is the heart of the city in many ways: a hub for entertainment, culture, activity, and so much more.

Protests Against the Dodgers Owner

Along the route of the Dodgers' victory parade, several protests are also expected to demand that the team's majority owner, Mark Walter, sell his stake in the team or distance himself from his dealings with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“The Dodgers won, but today ICE launched a strong attack on the Salvadoran community corridor in Los Angeles,” said Raul Claros, director of the Salvadoran Corridor Association and founder of the District 1 Coalition.

“It is true that the victory of the Dodgers, which is also my team, has lifted the spirits of Angelenos and helped some local businesses, but it is time to demand transparency from the owner regarding his relationship with ICE.”

Walter is also president of Guggenheim Partners, a financial firm that owns a 0.38% stake in GEO Group, the private prison corporation that operates ICE detention centers. That is to say, his investments in GEO Group amount to $12 million. But in addition, the principal owner of the Dodgers runs TWG Global, which recently announced an alliance with Palantir Technologies, a data analytics firm that ICE has paid $30 million to build a platform for facial recognition, predictive algorithms, and data fusion to track immigrants and support deportation efforts.
