The medical intervention has been complex, requiring two surgeries in less than a year due to complications with the fixation material. In February 2026, Jake Paul had to undergo a second procedure, as the platinum and titanium screws and plates initially placed gave way due to lack of rest.

During The Ariel Helwani Show, the fighter commented on the risk he runs when trying to continue in the discipline: “It depends on how the bone heals, I'm missing a tooth and I'm almost sure I'll have to get an implant.”

Return plans and possible opponents

Despite the medical risks, Jake Paul's entourage does not rule out his reappearance at the end of 2026. Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), told Sky Sports that the goal is to finalize a fight between mid-November and the end of December.

The team is analyzing options ranging from a rematch with Tommy Fury to an unprecedented confrontation with Francis Ngannou.

Regarding the possible clash against the former heavyweight champion, Jake Paul's perspective has been analyzed by his technical team. Bidarian explained the boxer's strategic vision: "He considers Ngannou an athlete of great power, but slow, with little agility and little mobility for the style that is required."
