Real Madrid would look for a new Mexican jewel....
Da'vian Kimbrough has been linked to Real Madrid. The Spanish club would like to secure the future of the young Mexican football prospect
Mexican football has attracted attention in recent years for the quality of its young players. In addition to the buzz surrounding Gilberto Mora, Da'vian Kimbrough would join the list of promising Mexican footballers. Kimbrough is reportedly on Real Madrid's radar. It's no secret that Europe's top clubs have extensive scouting networks and frequently sign players just over 15 years old. This is a way to ensure that, should they continue to develop well, they can retain them without spending large sums of money. According to reports compiled by TUDN, this may be the case with Da'vian Kimbrough. At just 15 years old, the center forward has reportedly caught the eye of one of the biggest clubs in the world, Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid is looking to finalize his signing with Sacramento FC of the USL, a team that plays in the second division of the United States (…) The report emphasizes that they have been closely monitoring him for months, with the desire to integrate him into Real Madrid Castilla, the youth team of the Merengue club,” the report details.
Da'vian Kimbrough currently plays for Sacramento Republic FC, a team in the USL Championship. This tournament represents the second tier of soccer in the United States. The striker signed a contract with this club in August 2023. The contract ends in November 2026, according to Transfermarkt.
Da'vian Kimbrough and his options with Mexico
The Mexican national team is not guaranteed to have the talent and quality of Da'vian Kimbrough. The 15-year-old striker has the option of representing up to three countries. Kimbrough can play for Cameroon (his father's nationality), Mexico (his mother's nationality), and the United States (Da'vian Kimbrough was born in California). So far, Kimbrough has represented two national teams. The promising striker played two matches for the US Under-16 team (scoring one goal). However, he has spent most of his youth career with Mexico. 18 matches between the under-16 and under-15 national teams (12 goals scored).
