Promoter and manager Óscar de la Hoya publicly confirmed that the legal problems have been resolved, allowing the company to concentrate its efforts on planning a unification fight against the current monarch of the category, Jaron Ennis.

This administrative determination seeks to reactivate the career of the interim champion of the World Boxing Council, who remains undefeated on the rented level.

The viability of the lawsuit against Ennis represents one of the promoter's priorities for the closing of the competition season, once the tensions that kept negotiations frozen during the first half of the year have dissipated.

The director of the promotion company used his official communication channels on the internet to publicize the progress regarding the sporting future of his client. Through a video broadcast on his social networks, Óscar de la Hoya stated that the focus of his work team is aimed at coordinating the necessary conditions to agree on the confrontation against the holder of the belts of the World Boxing Association and the World Boxing Organization.

“We are working on the fight between Vergil Ortiz and Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis,” explained the manager in the audiovisual material shared with his followers on digital platforms. In addition, Óscar de la Hoya emphasized that the completion of this fight at 154 pounds will depend largely on the decisions made by the opposing corner, pointing out in the same message: "Vergil Ortiz wants that fight. The professional relationship between the boxer and the promotion company faced a period of litigation in the federal courts of Nevada at the beginning of the year.
