Turco Mohamed makes history: He climbs in the list of most winners in Liga MX
Antonio Mohamed reached five titles in Mexico after being crowned with Toluca against Tigres in the Apertura Tournament
Antonio Mohamed made history not only for Toluca, but also climbed a place in the historical hierarchy of the most winning coaches in Mexican soccer. With this achievement, the Argentine strategist reached five Liga MX titles, a figure that places him among the true legends of the bench. Mohamed confirmed his reputation as a specialist in playoffs and finals. After winning the Clausura 2015, he repeated the feat in the Apertura 2015 to give Toluca its first back-to-back championship in short tournaments. Mohamed joins the legacy of great coaches. With this new title, Mohamed equaled historic coaches such as Victor Manuel Vucetich, Manuel Lapuente, and Javier de la Torre, in addition to surpassing his mentor, Enrique Meza, with whom he coincided at the memorable Toros Neza of the 1990s. The Argentine's record is particularly remarkable because he won with four different clubs: Tijuana, America, Monterrey, and Toluca. Only Pumas resisted him, although he also led them to the final stages.
