The sub-orbital launch of India's first privately developed rocket Vikram-S has been postponed for three days i.e. till November 18, informed by Hyderabad-based space startup Skyroot Aerospace. The reason for this has been given to bad weather.

Disclosing this a spokesperson of Skyroot Aerospace said that due to the forecast of bad weather, we have been given a new window for our Vikram-S rocket launch from Sriharikota from November 15-19, with the most likely date being November 18. It is 11:30 in the morning. Let us tell you that earlier the date of November 15 was fixed for the launch.

Skyroot Aerospace's first mission named 'Prarambh' will carry payloads from two Indian and one foreign customers and is set to lift off from the Indian Space Research Organization's (ISRO) launch site at Sriharikota. The mission is considered an important milestone for Skyroot, as it will help validate 80 percent of the technologies that will be used in the Vikram-1 orbital vehicle, which is planned for launch next year.

A Skyroot spokesperson said that the key area that we will be closely monitoring will be the performance of our solid-fuel rocket engine 'Kalam-1'. Chennai-based aerospace startup 'SpaceKidz' will launch 'Fun-Sat', a 2.5 kg payload developed by students from India, the US, Singapore and Indonesia. With this mission, Skyroot is all set to become India's first private space company to launch a rocket into space. This will usher in a new era in the space sector.

It was opened in 2020 to facilitate private-sector participation. Skyroot's launch vehicles have been named 'Vikram' as a tribute to Vikram Sarabhai, the founder of the Indian space programme.
