Pokemon creators lash out at the government for linking the MAGA slogan to one of their video games
The Pokemon Company International complained that the Trump administration used the image of one of its video games to promote the MAGA slogan
The company responsible for the Pokemon franchise expressed its opposition to the Trump administration using one of its video games to promote the MAGA slogan, which it considers inappropriate, as it was not even consulted beforehand.
It should be noted that, in September of last year,The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) used the theme song from "Pokemon" to soundtrack a video showing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arresting undocumented immigrants residing in the United States. The video included a subtitle with the phrase "Gotta catch 'em all," a slogan from the Pokemon franchise. Furthermore, the faces of some of those arrested appeared on playing cards, very similar to the Pokemon concept. Despite The Pokemon Company International's claim that they were not consulted about the use of their material, the controversial video remains active on official government social media accounts several months later.
