Los Angeles County Reinforces Protection Against ICE Raids
Supervisor Hilda Solis said the motion orders immediate action to protect and assist the immigrant community in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors introduced a motion to strengthen protections for the immigrant community after raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have intensified.
In In a statement, Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Hilda Solis said the motion was prepared after reports of raids across the county, including the arrest of a suspect in Boyle Heights with two unmarked police vehicles. "This motion mandates immediate action to protect and support immigrant communities by expanding rapid response efforts, connecting impacted residents with essential services like mental health care and benefits, and creating multilingual support tools," Solis said.
