Donald Trump and the first lady Melania will make a state visit to the United Kingdom in September
Buckingham Palace reported that Trump and his wife Melania will stay for three days in the United Kingdom at the invitation of King Charles III
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, accompanied by the first lady, Melania Trump, will make a state visit to the United Kingdom from September 17 to 19, at the invitation of King Charles III, Buckingham Palace reported.
The monarch will host the US head of state and his wife at Windsor Castle outside London, the royal family's official residence added, adding that details of the visit will be announced in due course.
The president and first lady previously made a state visit to the UK in 2019 at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022.
Charles III originally extended the invitation in a letter personally delivered to Trump by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a visit he made to Washington earlier this month after the president took office.
Starmer and Trump maintain a good bilateral relationship and have reached an agreement to reduce US tariffs on British cars, steel and aluminum in exchange for greater access to the UK market for American products such as beef and ethanol.
