Elon Musk is willing to found a new political party
Elon Musk threatens to open his checkbook to contribute the necessary resources to create “The Party of America”
As part of his fight with President Donald Trump, South African tycoon Elon Musk raised the possibility of creating a new political party with his followers on social media.
After 130 days as a special government employee, serving as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the richest man on the planet ended his term disgusted with the head of the nation.
Surprisingly, the visionary businessman who contributed nearly $250 million to the 78-year-old Republican's campaign turned against him and even reminded him that without his support his victory over Democrat Kamala Harris would not have been achieved.
"Without me, Trump would have lost the election, the Democrats would control the House of Representatives and the Republicans would have a 51-49 vote in the Senate. What ingratitude!" he said on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.
One of the major points of clash with the president arose from the fiscal and budget bill that he intends to impose and which Musk defined as a repugnant abomination.
"This huge, outrageous, wasteful, and expensive Congressional bill is a repugnant abomination. Eliminate the mountain of disgusting garbage from the bill," he emphasized.
Faced with Donald Trump's threat to cancel government contracts signed with his companies in retaliation for derogatory comments, the owner of companies like Tesla and SpaceX opened the possibility of providing the necessary resources to found a political party to compete at the level of the two that, for decades, have alternated control of the White House.
“The people have spoken. A new political party is needed in the United States that represents the 80% of the center! And exactly 80% of the people agree. This is destiny,” Musk wrote, adding the alleged result of a survey through which he asked his followers on the X platform to vote to find out if they were interested in being part of a new organization that will represent them in a different way at the head of the government.
And to make clear how serious his political proposal is, the South African even proposes a name: “The Party of America.”
