What could be worse than that?

The country is facing the brunt of the poor economic policies of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. He has fled to Maldives and his official residence has been occupied by the general public. Jayasuriya said, all this is unfortunate. Gotabaya is expected to submit his resignation on July 13. There are no words to describe the way our politicians have ruined the country's fleet. He said, "If you ask me about the people present inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan at this time, then I do not see any harm against them. They protested peacefully. He was repeatedly asked not to damage public property.

People gathered here on July 9 from different parts of Sri Lanka, who are demanding the resignation of the President. Jayasuriya expressed hope that democracy will return to the country soon and the situation will be normal. Asked whether he was in favor of making Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as the acting President, the former Sri Lankan captain said, "Raniel has no choice." He will have to obey the order of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abhaywardana. For the restoration of peace and democracy in the country, Ranil will have to talk to leaders of various parties including Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa.

Jayasuriya said, he will have to bring Muslim leaders and Tamil leaders of the country on the platform of dialogue. We want the restoration of democracy. He expressed hope that the Asia Cup, starting in August, will be held in Sri Lanka itself. He said, I have full hope that this tournament will happen. There is no danger to it. Everyone in Sri Lanka loves cricket and cricketers. Sri Lankan public is not against any cricketer. Measures will be taken to conduct the tournament in a peaceful manner.
